Description

Panax Ginseng, also known as Asian ginseng, Chinese ginseng, or Korean ginseng, has been valued in traditional Chinese herbal practices for thousands of years. Its roots are celebrated for their botanical and historical significance in herbal preparations.

Root Description:

  • Fusiform or cylindrical root, 1–20 cm in length and 1–3 cm in diameter.

  • Exterior color ranges from greyish-yellow to amber-yellow.

  • Upper part shows sparse, shallow, interrupted transverse striations with distinct longitudinal wrinkles.

  • Lower part has 1–5 branching lateral roots and numerous slender rootlets.

  • Hard-textured rhizomes, initially slightly sweet with a mild bitter note.

How to Prepare Herbal Decoctions (Hot Infusion):

  1. Add 1 teaspoon of dried Panax ginseng root to 1 cup of water in a saucepan.

  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes.

  3. Strain and enjoy your herbal infusion.

Optional Additions: Sweeten with honey, natural fruit juice, stevia leaf powder, or licorice root powder.
