Description
Althaea officinalis, the Marsh Mallow or Marshmallow, is af flowering plant indigenous to Europe, Western Asia and North Africa, that’s utilized in herbalism and as an herb to be used in different remedies.
Marshmallow is sometimes used to form a protective layer on the skin and lining of the digestive tract. It also contains chemicals that might decrease coughing and fight infections. Don’t confuse marshmallow with the mallow (Malva sylvestris) flower and leaf.
